Robert Junior Pierce

Robert Junior Pierce, 80, a life time resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 in a local hospital.  He was a member of Eagles Chapel Church.  He was a former employee of Cleveland State Community College serving in the security department.  He was retired from the United States Army after 23 years, 5 months and 11 days of service. 

Mr. Pierce was the son of the late Robert Andrew Pierce and Bertha Berton Pierce; siblings:  William Pierce, Haskell Pierce, Iona Hudgins, Willie Ruth Williams and Mildred Brumblow.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lillie Mae Carroll Pierce of Cleveland; children:  Beverly Allen and husband, Clint, Jeff Pierce, Bruce Pierce, Debbie Martin and husband, Mitchell all of Cleveland; four grandchildren that he loved, Brittany York and husband, Jason, Tiffany Rattler and husband, Ammons, Chesley Pierce, and Tiffany Pierce; four great-grandchild, Miyah, Layla, Sasha, and Trinity.  His favorite niece was Joyce Kennedy who loved him very much, she always called him "Paw" and he always depended on her.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Beaty officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with full military honors.  

His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the funeral home.
