Tab J. Cathey, 53, of Calhoun passed away in a car accident on Monday, August 28, 2017. He was a member of Clear Springs Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Cathey Jr. and Jackie Cathey; two brothers, Dale Cathey and Kim Cathey and a niece, Natasha Cathey. 

Survivors include: two sons, Nolan Cathey and William Reese II both of Cleveland; a daughter and son-in-law, Zigana and Chris Atkins of Calhoun; two grandsons, James Atkins of Calhoun and Draven Reese of Munice, IN, a granddaughter, Alexia Reese of Muncie, IN, an ex-wife Cindy Cathey of Cleveland, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Becky Cathey and Mitchell and Betty Gentry both of Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews. Close friends include the Calfee/ Guess family, Lynette Rummel and the Snyder family all of Calhoun and many more friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Atkins, William Reese II, David Arp, Kody Calfee, Steven Gamble, and Travis Murry and honary pallbearers are Josh Cathey, Phil Key and Steve Swafford.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev Cliff Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 5:00  p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
