Barbara Cloud Ervin

March 12, 1931 — October 1, 2017

Barbara Cloud Ervin, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at The Bridge Assisted Living Facility in Ooltewah.  She was elected State Democratic Committee Woman for Tennessee and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland.  She was very civic minded and loved to help people, but her true passion was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ervin, Jr; parents, Jay and Ella Mae Biggs Cloud and sister, Reba Sipe.

She is survived by her two children, George Ervin, III and wife, Kathryn M. Ervin of Cleveland and Andy Ervin and wife, Kathy G. Ervin of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Bain Ervin, Casey Ervin Waddle, Joe Ervin, Haley Ervin Shepherd, Julie Ann Ervin Babcock and Hannah Ervin; six great-grandchildren, River, Bailey, Jake, Maggie, Mack and Connor.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
