Retired Lt. Colonel Harold Robert "Bob" Hall

January 11, 1921 — November 3, 2017

Retired Lt. Colonel Harold Robert “Bob” Hall, 96, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Michigan and lived over 20 years in Bradley County.  He attended Victory Drive Church of God.  Bob retired after 31 years of service in the United States Air Force as a Lt. Colonel.  He was a WWII ace pilot for Great Britain and the United States.  He also flew in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.  He was a professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he taught how to fly airplanes, seaplanes, gliders and helicopters.  He served as a Boy Scout Leader for 65 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 95.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hall; parents, James A. and Marguerite Somers Hall; sons, Barry and Billy Hall; son-in-law, Randy Cranfield; brothers, Forrest James Hall, Arthur Regal Hall, Stuart Frances Hall and Gordon Leroy Hall.

He is survived by his five children and spouses, Brenda C. and Tony Hall, of Woodbridge, VA, Bertie Cranfield, of Cleveland, Barbara and Kevin Mitchell, of Cleveland, Paul and Rhonda Falke of Cleveland, and Bobby and JoAnn Hall of MI; sister, Lu Johnson of MI; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with his grandson the Reverend T.J. Hall officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors and a white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will received friends from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the funeral home
