Mary Frances Christian

Mary Frances Higgins Christian, 96, a resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the family residence.  She was born in Lexington, KY, and had lived in the Cleveland area for the last 40 years.  She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Christian; parents, Henry and Frances Catherine Higgins; an infant son; three brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by five children, Phyllis Duncil and husband Larry of Cleveland, Roger Christian and wife Carolyn of Melbourne, FL, Danny Christian and wife Cathy of Melbourne, FL, Jack Christian and wife Brenda of Melbourne, FL, and Diann Penley of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one sister, Pat Tallman of Melbourne, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A mass will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating.  A committal service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Danny Christian, Dawson Willis, Jamie Tanksley, Roger Christian, Omer Duncil II, Rob Christian, Larry Duncil II, and David Christian serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory.
