Merle "Sandy" L. Ometer

Merle “Sandy” Ometer, 73, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the family residence.  She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church and was a charter member of the Bird Club in Cleveland.  Sandy enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the animal shelter and the vet’s office.  Sandy was a talented and recognized artist.  
  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Adeline Feldman Pollack and daughters, Heather Wilke and Lisa Barnes.

She is survived by her husband, David L. Ometer of Cleveland; children, Mindy Barnes, of Placerville, CA, Holly Chasteen (Bob), of Cincinnati, OH and Corry Guffey (Jamie), of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; step-children, Gary Ometer, of VA, Diane Ometer, of Columbus, OH, and Gregory Ometer, of Mansfield, OH; brother, Glenn Pollack of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law, Lynne Ometer of Atlanta, GA and foster son, Scott Schwartz, of NY.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service.
