William L. Huff, 75, a resident of McDonald, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 in a local hospital. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Chattanooga, where he was involved with the Christian Life Sunday School Class and worked with the missionary field. Mr. Huff was retired from the United States Navy, where he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was the business owner of Huff’s Truck Service and Huff’s Small Engine Repair.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma June Bernhardt Huff; second, wife, Ada Huff and third wife, Adele Huff; parents, John and Ruby Sutton Persons, and brothers, Robert Huff, Lonnie Persons and Everett Persons.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Anita Bowen Huff of McDonald; three children, Alinda Denise Huff-Yates (Patricia) of Wyoming, Jennifer Webb Robinson (Chris) of Cleveland, and Michael David Webb (Jessica) of Missouri; nine grandchildren, Gary Gene Taylor (Savannah), Angelina Taylor, Hailey Webb, Thomas Robinson, Molly Robinson, Emily Webb, Claire Bradley, Madilyn Webb and Kaitlyn Webb; two great-grandchildren, Gary Gene Taylor III, and Eerikki Taylor; sisters, Linda Riggs and Brenda Rennie; sister-in-law, Kathy Huff and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Graham and the Reverend Fred Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors and bagpipes concluding the service. Don Gray, Michael Webb, Chris Robinson, Jonathan Hernandez, Rodney Woods and Mike McDonald will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 -8:00 pm. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
