Azilee Berry Davis

June 25, 1931 — June 17, 2018

Azilee Berry Davis, 86, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at her residence.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  She retired from the Cleveland City School system after 40 years of service.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1951; then moved to Cleveland soon after.  She enjoyed square dancing, volunteering at church and participating with the Silver Sneaker water aerobics class at the YMCA.  She was an active member of The Friendly Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.

 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Aaron Davis; three infant daughters; parents Verlin Berry and Lottie Lambert Berry; siblings and siblings-in-law Imogene Owens, Nita Maureen Berry, James F. Owens, Jake S. Davis, and Cleo R. Davis; In-laws Elbert L. and Vina Wilcox Davis.

She is survived by her children Lisa Ann Davis and Kimberly Jo (David) Visage; grandchildren Tuesday Nicole Brazier, and Mary Jolee Neely; siblings and siblings-in-law Marson and Carol Berry, Don and Carol Berry, Janice D. Stover, Patsy Maynard and John; friends Stacy Hollingsworth, Jenny Hampton, Cindy Snow, Gerald Hammonds and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.  Neal Berry, Ken Owens, Jeff Miller, Josh Pratt, Gerald Hammonds and Jason Gates will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests, donations be made to First Baptist Church Library, or the Gideon’s International.
