Kenneth Edward Hyde

March 23, 1932 — July 28, 2018

Kenneth Edward Hyde, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.  He was self-employed and had operated a clean-up shop for 47 years.   He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War.   He was born in Cherokee County, NC, and had lived in Cleveland most of his life.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He loved hunting and the outdoors, and also loved to play golf.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Hyde and Maude Chastain Hyde; and three brothers, Charles Hyde, Clifton Hyde, and Freddie Hyde.

 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Seleta Anne Higgins Hyde; three children, Kenny Hyde of Cleveland, Teresa Bryant and husband Larry of Cleveland, and Billy Hyde and wife Tracy of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, Miranda Harper, Brad Bryant, Will Bryant, Blake Hyde, Bretton Deal, Bryce Deal, and Macy Deal; three great grandchildren, Blake Moses, Ashlin Harper, and Emorie Nicholson; special nephew, Tim Hyde; and several more nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jonathan Pierce officiating.  A white dove release ceremony, and bagpipes will conclude the service.
