Gwendola Wilson, 91, of Cleveland, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful member of Big Spring Baptist Church for over 70 years where she loved giving her wonderful hugs to everyone she knew. For 26 years she volunteered in the Crisis Closet Ministry at the church. Gwendola retired from Duracell Battery after working there 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom and Callie Auberry; siblings, Jack Auberry, B.L. Auberry, Max Auberry, Ella V. Beck, Bobie Ware, Avis Gaylor and Ruth Chastain; and son, Douglas Cash.
Gwendola is survived by loving husband of 58 years, Ralph Wilson; daughters, Belinda (Jimmy) Davis and Annette Wilson (Terry Myers); daughter-in-law, Delores Cash; grandchildren, Kim (Daron) Miller, Jason Cash and Andy Odom; great grandchildren, Piper (Stephen) Davis, Micala Cash, Taelor Cash and Tyler Gravely; and great great grandchildren, Bentley Cash and Jaxon Tapley.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Malone officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jason Cash, Andy Odom, Jimmy Davis, Terry Myers, Stephen Davis and Daron Miller serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to Big Spring Baptist Church, 1415 Hardwick St. SE, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.
