Ailene Robinson Moffett

May 14, 1931 — November 21, 2018

On November 21, 2018, Ailene Robinson Moffett transitioned out of this earthly life and joined her loved ones and friends in the eternal life she longed for since her conversion to Christianity in her childhood years.  Born on May 14, 1931, Ailene will be remembered as a steadfast woman of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, a servant to the kingdom of God through dedicated ministry with her late husband Rev. B.J. Moffett in the Church of God, a loving mother of strength, wisdom, and prayer, an advocate for those in need and trouble, and a woman of dignity and class.  Though her life was filled with poverty, tragic loss, and many difficulties, her children, grandchildren, extended family and all who knew Sister Moffett, can testify that she remained steadfast in her love for God and love for others.

Ailene is survived by daughter, Reba Faith Morris and son-in law, Rev. Gregory D. Morris; grandson, Sean Morris and his wife Brooke; and son, Dr. Bradley Moffett and daughter-in-law, Melissa Dixon Moffett; and granddaughter, Morgan Moffett; along with several nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Ailene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. B. J. Moffett; her two sons, Timothy and Mark Moffett; all her siblings; and many of her extended family members.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 26 in the Family Room at the Westmore Church of God, 2412 Wolfe Ave NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Family Room at the church.  There will an informal graveside service at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27 at Mt. Harmony Cemetery, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Mableton, GA 30126.

In lieu of flowers or other gestures, consider generously donating to the B.J. Moffett (soon to be named B.J. and Ailene Moffett) scholarship at Lee University.  This scholarship affords students pursuing a vocational ministry in music financial assistance to grow and develop in the Lee University School of Music.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Moffett family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.
