Arthur Louie Masengil

Arthur Louie Masengil, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at home.  Born and raised in Bradley County, he moved back to his family farm in 1996, where he wanted to be close to his family.  He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church in Dalton, GA.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on August 10, 2017.  He loved raising a garden, hunting, fishing, the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, golf, and his family. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Velma Masengil, parents, Agnes Dora Knittle and Arthur Lee Masengill, four brothers and five sisters. 

He is survived by three sons Larry Masengill and wife Lana of Cleveland; Alan Massengale and wife Elizabeth of Long Beach, California; and Ken Masengil and wife Nancy of Chattanooga; four grandchildren John Masengill and wife Elise of Knoxville, Lora Anne Masengill of Maui, Hawaii, Sebastian Massengale and Stevie Massengale both of Long Beach, California; three great-grandchildren Davis, Cate, and Caroline Masengill all of Knoxville. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.  John Bagby, Richard Rymer, Robert Rymer, Randall Lamon, Daniel Swafford, and Andrew Frazier serving as pallbearers. Military Honors will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
