Mildred Augustine Allen

Mildred Augustine Clark Allen, 90, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at a local healthcare facility.  She was of the Church of God faith and attended Brainerd Hills Chapel in Chattanooga.  She loved sewing, baking, flowers, and working in her yard.  She was soft spoken but loved serving. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe H. Clark and Martha Coe Clark; sisters, Marie Jenkins and Jewel Geier; brothers, John Henry Clark, William Clark,  J. B. Clark, R.L. Clark, Frank Clark, Sherman Clark, Fred Clark, and Joe T. Clark. 

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Francis Afton Allen; daughter, Martha Jane (Steve) Hunt of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Herron and Vickie Marie Herron, both of Cleveland; and four great grandchildren, Alaina Marie Graham, Chole Jada Graham, Tyson DeWayne Lawson, and Kayden Raine Johnson.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Herron officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ken Jones, Steve Hunt, Jason Stephens, H. T. Clark, and Clifford Clark serving as pallbearers.  J. L. Clark will serve as an honorary pallbearer.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 prior to the service.
