Raymond A Joseph

Raymond A. Joseph, 88, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 in a regional hospital.  He was a resident of Cleveland over 40 years.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Ministries.  He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a former businessman in Chattanooga, TN and Alabama until his retirement.  During the early days of cable television, he was instrumental in developing cable TV systems in all of East Tennessee.  He enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his wife and family.   He was an expert horseman who rode and showed cutting horses.  He and his daughter, Lisa, both enjoyed their time riding horses together.  He will be greatly missed for his infectious sense of humor and his smiles.  His stories of his life and accomplishments are deeply treasured by his family and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Amelia Mahfood Joseph; brothers, Joe Joseph & Samuel Joseph, sisters, Mae James, Minnie Betters & Marie Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, JoAnn Whaley Joseph of Cleveland, one daughter; Lisa Joseph Greeson and husband Mike of Murfreesboro; two granddaughters, Jordan Sain and husband Jacob of Knoxville, Macy Greeson of Murfreesboro, one sister, Evie LePore & husband Bill of Hagerstown, MD; special nephews: Chuck James, Robert & Greg.

He was a Godly man of true genuine character that was deeply loved and adored by his family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverends Gary Sears and Paul Lee officiating. 

Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Chattanooga National Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the funeral home prior to the service.
