JoAnn Fry Cross, 66, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 in a local hospital. She was born in Cookeville, TN, but had lived in the Cleveland area most of her life. She was a member of Cohulla Baptist Church. She loved cooking, flowers, gardening, and most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Luther Fry and Bessie May West Fry; and brothers, Archie Fry and Harold Fry.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Abern Cross; three children, Gina Vaughn of Cleveland, Kerry Csehil and husband Larry of Cleveland, and Christina Pierce and husband Rodney of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Daniel Dillard of North Carolina, Matthew and Brittany Lynn of Dalton, GA, Jordan and Brian Pierce of Cleveland, and Kaitlyn Csehil of Cleveland; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Fry of Blue Ridge, GA, Louis Fry of Cleveland, and Kenneth Fry of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Hunter McLain officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Springs Cemetery with Brian Pierce, Willard Myers, William Myers, Calep Henley, Brad Myers, and Derek Myers serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the funeral home.
