Ersa E. Whaley

Ersa E. Ogle Whaley, age 91, of the Chicago area, passed away peacefully Tuesday February, 12, 2019 with her daughters at her side.

Born and raised in Seymour, TN she was the cherished daughter of the late Water and Bunea Ogle.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rosa (Homer) Phillips and Lois Stonecipher; her brother, Harmon Ogle; son-in-law, Kevin Sowell; and sister-in-law, Betty Ogle.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Sowell and Teresa (Brett) Owens; grandchildren, Todd (Cheryl) Brandon and Tanya Brandon (fiancé, Todd Hunter); great grandchildren, Sophia and Dominic Brandon; several nieces and nephews; brother, Willard Ogle; and sister-in-law, Diane Ogle.

The service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.  A private family burial will be held at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.  

Services were also held in Illinois.
