Judith Lynne Barrett Scherer

Judith Lynne Barrett Scherer, 66, a resident of Charleston, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her residence.  She had lived in the Bradley County area her entire life and was of the Church of God faith.   She was loyal, courageous, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Robert Barrett; and nephew, Michael Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Scherer; children, Beth Teems and husband Mike of Cohutta, GA, Christi McElfresh and husband Ryan of Cleveland, James Robert Barrett of Cleveland, Paige Barrett of Cleveland, Jordon Scherer Little and husband Anthony of Lafayette, GA, and Josh Scherer of Cleveland; grandchildren, Katie Kiddy, Mandy Kiddy, Mikayla Teems, Cody Gee, Tyler Gee, Micah Brackett, Sarah and Holden Barrett, Leah McElfresh, and Samantha Teems; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hood, Jace Bigham, Malachi Taute, Wyatt Gee, Grayson Gee, Jax Bailey, Reese Little, and Hattie Little; parents, Glenn and Inez Loftis Lawson; siblings, Cathy Lawson, of Calhoun, TN, Glenn Lawson and wife Karen of Dalton, GA, Michelle Young and husband Bryan of Dalton, GA, and Lynette Lawson of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, JoAnn Johnson Coffey; mother-in-law, Lois Scherer; and several other nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Don Patterson and Reverend Chip Hammond officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Larry Jeffrey, Heath Rogers, Joe Martin, Jimmy Galahar, Jimmy Thompson, Holt Caldwell, Wayne Watson, and Stevie Farmer serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
