Sandra Veal

Sandra Jane Taylor Veal, 70, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her residence.  She was born April 3, 1948 in Murphy, NC, but lived a majority of her life in Bradley County where she grew up at Bachman Home.  She retired as a computer tech after 31 years of service from Whirlpool (formerly Maytag/Magic Chef). Sandra was a member of Boanerges Baptist Church.  She loved reading books and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Pearl Slagle Taylor; daughter, Mary Ilene Veal; and siblings, John Taylor, Billy Taylor, Geraldine Taylor, Dawn Taylor, Shirley Duckett, Robert Taylor, Elizabeth Barrett, Darrell Taylor, Eddie Taylor and Ann Huff.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Larry Veal of Cleveland; children, Denise (Michael) Biddy and Stacey Ratcliff, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Levon (Jessica) Ivey of Calhoun and Shelby (Bryan) Farris, Blake Ratcliff and Tanner Ratcliff, all of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Adrian, Charlie, Alyssa, Tucker, Lane, Tuff, Julia, Grace, Annalynn and Owen; sibblings, David (Ann) Taylor of Houston, TX, Dennis Taylor of Cleveland and Hazel (Robert) Hottel of NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Pastor David Disney officiating.   The interment will follow in Mt. Bethel Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service at the cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
