Ina B. Deal-Akins

Ina B. Deal-Akins, 85, of Cleveland/Charleston, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility due to a lengthy illness.

She worked at Mallory Battery/Duracell for forty years. Her clock number was No. 1. She worked there from November 27, 1961 until she retired in 2001. Ina is of strong faith and loves her Lord. She mostly cherished her time with her family, and her favorite thing to do was going to Disney World.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Moore; first husband and father of her children, Joe H. Deal; husband, Max Akins; and daughter, Ruth Deal. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ginger Morgan and husband Dennis of Maryville, Tennessee; brother, Charles Moore of Cleveland, Tennessee; sister, Jodi Jones and husband Bill of Cleveland, Ohio; the true joy of her life, grandson, Michael McCaskill and wife Penny; great-grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Hunter McCaskill, Erin McCaskill, and great-great-granddaughter, Arianna Brown.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory, with Revered Greg Long officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service at the cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 at the funeral home.
