Gordon Richard Sayers

Gordon Richard Sayers, 83, of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in an Athens hospital.  A native of Vassalboro, Maine Gordon had been a resident of Cleveland since 2000.  He was also a former resident of Pierson, Florida.  Gordon was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Strong Stakich Sayers of Cleveland, TN and a native of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Linda Theobald and husband, Clay of Spokane, Washington, Audrey Yetter and husband, Ken of Houston, Texas and Ivy DeJesus and husband, Pablo of Killeen, Texas; two sons, Oliver Sayers and wife, Debra of Kiln, Mississippi Kelly Sayers and wife, Jackie of Pierson, Florida; two step-children, Jean Stakich Deyton and husband, Allen of Cleveland and Kenneth Alan Stakich and wife, Virginia of Valdosta, GA; two sisters, Joan McAlpin and husband, Ed of Trenton, Florida and Marilyn Liverman and husband, Bob of Wickenburg, Arizona; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a great-grandson.
