Chad Michael Rowlee, 49 of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at his sister’s home in Snellville, Georgia. He worked at Emory University in Atlanta as a TOC (IT) engineer. Chad was CIO and co-founder of Myth Innovations, holder of six US patents and one Chinese patent regarding augmented reality interface method and use. He was a former raft guide on the Ocoee River, a “gamer” enthusiast, respected professional and a friend to everyone and an enemy to no one.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin W. Rowlee.
Survivors include his mother, Joanne Reimer Rowlee of Cleveland, Tennessee; sister, Karin (Jimmy Kincaid) Rowlee of Snellville, Georgia; brother, Derrick Rowlee of Cleveland, Tennessee; niece, Embry Kincaid; nephew, Beren Kincaid; several aunts, uncles and cousins; soulmate, Shannon Szczekot; brother friends, David Barber, Jim Luckett and Jorge Tarafa; and many many friends.
A celebration of Chad's life will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the OAR Outpost, 629 Welcome Valley Road, Benton, Tennessee 37307.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Ed Rowlee Scholarship Fund at CSCC by contacting the Cleveland State Foundation, (423) 473-2262. Cards of sympathy can be sent to the Rowlee family at 1503 20th Street NW, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.
