Edna Ruth Whaley

Edna Ruth Whaley, 93, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 in a local hospital.  She attended New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.  She retired from AT&T after 35 years, and was an active member of the Communication Workers of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Cayce A. Whaley; parents, Roy Gates and Rose Lawson Gates; brother, Earl Wilkey and sister, Francis Bean.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral with Minister Rob Touchstone officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Nathan Davis, Zachary Rush, Lawson Touchstone, Jason Davis, Phillip Gehron, Seth Davis and Robert Kelly serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
