J.C. (Knobby) Myers

J. C. (Knobby) Myers, 76, of Calhoun, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at his residence.  He was a retiree of Maytag Corporation, a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, and an avid NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Myers and Lora Brown Myers; son, James Myers; brothers, J. D. (Irene) Myers, Bill (Joan) Myers; sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) Woods, Faye (Bill) Brock, Ann Swafford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Juanita Cross Myers of Calhoun, TN; children, Theresa Lowe of Cleveland, Susan Calfee and husband LeRoy of Cleveland, Tiffany Shamblin and husband Jason of Calhoun, and Justin Myers and wife Angel of Calhoun; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willis (Cotton) Myers and Ray (Marie) Myers, both of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Dennis Swafford; special friends, Kelly, Tim, and Alley Whaley; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Cain and Reverend Jeff Frazier officiating.  Interment will follow in Calhoun First Baptist Church Cemetery with Justin Myers, Jason Shamblin, Trayce Shamblin, David McAlister, Caleb Rice, Terry Myers, and Tim Whaley serving as pallbearers.  Damien Harris will serve as an honorary pallbearer.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
