Virginia Mosley

Mrs. Virginia Mosley age 92, of Cleveland, TN formerly of Victoria, TN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 with her family by her side. Mrs. Mosley was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mosley; grandson, Jim Bob Randolph; parents, Myrtle (John Wesley) Smith; father, Jake Parham.

“Miss” Mosley as she was affectionally known was a school nurse in Marion County for over 35 years.  Over this period of time, she took care of hundreds of Marion County School children from Griffith Creek to Whitwell and up to Monteagle Elementary and all in between. 

She received many awards not only from the county, but also the state of Tennessee for her work with “her” children.  There were many new socks, pants, shirts, underwear, skirts, blouses and shoes worn on the first day of a new school year thanks to Miss Mosley.

It was nothing for her to leave her house at 3am to go and pick up a child and parent to have them in Chattanooga by 6am for surgeries, braces, and even a new artificial eye for one of her children.

Her school children were her passion.  It was shown through her tremendous effort to make their lives better. Even though the school children were an important part of her life, her greatest achievement was her two daughters, Brenda Randolph and Karen (Paul) Johnson of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Jon Randolph, Kent (Danielle) Barnett, Trena (Ric) Johnson, Drs. PJ (Angela) Johnson, Dr. Joey (Lauren) Johnson, Tonya (Larry) Hargett,  Tony Randolph, Kara Jill (Timmy) Rash; nine great grandchildren, Mary Caitlyn Hollifield, Briley (Jacob) Mason, Caroline Rash, Parker Johnson, Eli Randolph, Hannah Randolph, Claire Johnson, Victoria Johnson & Owen Johnson.

Family will receive friends 2-8PM, Central time, Saturday, August 24, 2019; 12-2PM, Central, Sunday, August 25. 2019.

Funeral services will be at 2PM, Central time, Sunday, August 25, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Keith Munford officiating.  Interment at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.

Five special people in her life were Wanda Braden, her hair dresser of 55+ years, Norrell Privitt, a life long friend of the family; Jimmy Gentry who always referred to Virginia as, “My friend”, Diane and Mandy Caldwell, best friends till the end.
