Linda R. Lawson (Gatlin)

June 9, 1952 — September 17, 2019

Linda R. Lawson (Gatlin), 67, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Boulevard Terrace Nursing home.  She was of Baptist faith and enjoyed listening to Gospel music.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends. Linda worked for both of the Bradley County and Rutherford County governments and also for the State of Tennessee government.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, J.T. and Ruth Gatlin; grandparents, Joe and Elizabeth Gatlin and Walter and Pearl Carson.

 

Survivors include her two children, Melissa (Michael) Harris and Erika Cooke, both of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Madison Harris (Gregory) Smith, McKenzie Harris, Mitchell Harris and Victoria Beth Cooke; one great-grandchild on the way in 2019; two sisters, Margie Gatlin Castelow and Debbie Gatlin Sparks; two brothers, Gale Thomas Gatlin and Dale Carson Gatlin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Fletcher Farris officiating.  Interment will follow in Chestuee Cemetery with Mitchell Harris, Jeremy Castelow, Jayden Castelow, Randall Gatlin, Michael Gatlin, and Zachary Woods serving as pallbearers.

 

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 and to Travis Roy Foundation for Spinal Research, 101 Huntington Ave., Suite 520, Boston, MA 02199.
