Carl "Sterling" Smith

 Carl Sterling Smith, of Englewood, and formerly of Bayboro, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at a local healthcare facility.   He had just celebrated his 95th birthday on Sunday September 23, 2018. 

Sterling is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy H. Smith; parents, Calvin and Mary Amanda Smith; six brothers and one sister. 

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Carl Wayne and Donna Smith of Riceville; one daughter and son-in-law Betsy Elaine and Donnie Bain of Englewood; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one very special brother-in-law and wife, Rev.  Robert and Thelma Hamilton of Chattanooga, TN. 

 A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Mars Hill Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Tony Dodd officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
