George Blackwell

George Kenneth Blackwell, age 82, resident of Athens, TN, passed away Friday evening, February 9, 2007, in a nursing home in Athens. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Magic Chef/Maytag. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Olaree Clark Blackwell, one brother, Johnny Blackwell, 2 sisters, Mary Ruth Blackwell and Olline Sweeton and one granddaughter.

He is survived by three children, David Blackwell, Jackie Blackwell and Kaneetha Blackwell; three sisters, Elizabeth Nichols, Wanda Chrisman and Glenda Watson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren an nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 11, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at Calhoun Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.

The family will gather for a time of receiving friends at 2:00 p.m. at the Calhoun Cemetery on Sunday.
