Dorothy F. Rice, age 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at her daughters home. She participated in knit-ins where she knitted blankets and hats for the needy in our community. She travelled with the Gadabouts and loved gardening.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Kelley-Pilgrim and her husband Jim of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Dan Kelley and wife Beth of Signal Mtn., Jennifer Hubbuch of Knoxville, Bay Kelley and wife Andrea of Bloomington, IN, Jim Pilgrim of Soddy Daisy, and Teresa Nichols and husband Bill of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for the family will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter with Chaplain Art Jones officiating.
