Thomas Glenn Varnell

Thomas Glenn Tom Varnell, age 60, formerly of Cleveland, TN, passed away Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at a hospital in Baton Rouge, LA after an extended illness with cancer. He recently retired from Exxon Mobil where he worked for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gilbert Able Varnell.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Cate Varnell, three sons, Scott of Cleveland, TN; Blake of Denver, CO and Brett of Baton Rouge, LA; mother, Margaret Harthcock Varnell of Cleveland, TN; brothers Bill Varnell of Cleveland and Dr. Bob Varnell of Winston-Salem, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held at St. Lukes Episcopal Church on Goodwood in Baton Rouge, LA, Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
