James Freeman

James Allen Freeman, age 48, a resident Des Moines, IA and formerly of Apison passed away on June 27, 2016 at his residence.

James was an avid hunter and fisherman.    He loved his family and adored his children and his dog, Emma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Freeman; brother, Tony Freeman; wife, Patti Freeman.

He was survived by his mom and step-father, Shirley and John Smedley, Sr.; children, Danny Freeman, Jenna Freeman and Joseph Freeman; sisters, Darla Hackney (John Alexander) and Marie “Sissy” (Sammie) Whitmire.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July, 9, 2016 in the chapel of Grissom- Serenity Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James’ memory to Red Clay State Park, 1140 Red Clay Road SW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
