Sammie Gee Scoggins
October 18, 1945 — December 7, 2016
Sammie Gee Scoggins, age 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at a local nursing home. She loved to go to church and was a member of the Springplace Road Church of God. Sammie also enjoyed crafts and loved to shop and travel.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter & Gladys Gee; brother, Paul Gee; and sister, Marie Dockery.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Scoggins; children Sonya Swafford of Signal Mountain; Rhonda Smith of Sacramento, CA; step children; Debra Martin of Cleveland; Sherry Lang of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Gee and Walter Gee Jr; and one sister Sue Pierce.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
